4D scans show foetuses yawn in the womb

Growing into a fully formed human being is a long process, and scientists have found that unborn babies not only hiccup, swallow and stretch in the womb, they also yawn

Researchers who studied 4D scans of 15 healthy foetuses also said they think yawning is a developmental process which could potentially give doctors a new way to check on a baby's health.

South Africa's child vaccination rates lower than those of Malawi

A dangerous game of darts in the dark
By Daniel Berman and Gregory Hussey

South Africa claims with pride its status as a middle-income country and economic powerhouse but when it comes to saving the lives of children through routine immunisations, we are far behind neighbouring countries. By 2010, South Africa was already spending R1.2 billion on vaccine procurement every year but child vaccination rates remained low – lower than those of Malawi, a country with 8% of South Africa’s per capita income.

Recently, Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) South Africa questioned the current system in South Africa at the inaugural International African Vaccinology Conference in Cape Town.

For MSF South Africa and others concerned about immunisation, the facts are clear: young South African children are not receiving basic immunisations. Meanwhile, South Africa is overpaying for these vaccines while under-spending on programme support.

30 Important Websites For Highly Sensitive People

HSP Health Blog offers insight into the highly sensitive trait and its genetic and stress diseases. It offers alternative health strategies for HSP’s to support their highest functioning.

Have you noticed the increased interest in introverts and highly sensitive people?

In 1996, Dr. Elaine Aron published her groundbreaking book, The Highly Sensitive Person, opening a door that could not be kept closed any longer. Highly sensitive people have been treated as if there is something wrong with them for a long time, when in fact they are among the most caring, conscientious and creative people on the planet.

As the downsides of our current cultural model becomes increasingly apparent and the need for serious change becomes more accepted,  many people will be seeking a different perspective, new skills and even an adjustment in values.

When Is Ejaculation ‘Premature,’ and what to do about it?

Article by James Hamblin, MD, is The Atlantic‘s Health editor.

With personal lidocaine spray, anesthetized genitals are just a “please excuse me for a moment” away.

How long is sex supposed to last? One consensus of sex therapists said 3 to 7 minutes of penis-in-vagina is “adequate,” while 7 to 13 minutes is “desirable.”

If three minutes is adequate, then when does being a little quick on the trigger become an actual medical diagnosis?

The International Society of Sexual Medicine defines premature ejaculation as meeting all of three criteria: finishing most of the time within one minute and having it result in personal distress.

Indonesians plagued by blindness

During eight days, more than 1,400 cataracts were removed.

They came from the remotest parts of Indonesia, taking crowded overnight ferries and riding for hours in cars or buses - all in the hope that a simple, and free, surgical procedure would restore their eyesight.

Many patients were elderly and needed help to reach two hospitals in Sumatra where mass eye camps were held earlier this month by Nepalese surgeon Dr. Sanduk Ruit. During eight days, more than 1,400 cataracts were removed.

The patients camped out, sleeping side-by-side on military cots, eating donated food while fire trucks supplied them with water for showers and toilets. Many who had given up hope of ever seeing again left smiling after their bandages were removed.

Physicians: Birth control should be sold without a prescription

(CNN) -- In the future, women may be able to buy birth control pills alongside ibuprofen and cough drops if the recommendation of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is adopted.

The group is recommending that oral contraceptives be sold over the counter without a prescription in an effort to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies in the United States.

Approximately 50% of all pregnancies are unplanned, a rate that hasn't changed much in the past 20 years, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reproductive health research. Women in their 20s are most at risk.

An ethics debate on IVF doctor selling large quantities of Human Embryos at cheap prices

You knew it would come to this. To reduce costs, an IVF doctor is making mass quantities of embryos and selling them on the cheap. From the LA Times story:

Dr. Ernest Zeringue was looking for a niche in the cut throat industry of fertility treatments. He seized on price, a huge obstacle for many patients, and in late 2010 began advertising a deal at his Davis, Calif., clinic unheard of anywhere else: Pregnancy for $9,800 or your money back.

That’s about half the price for in vitro fertilization at many other clinics, which do not include money-back guarantees.

The shocking truth about what's really in vaccines: Mercury, MSG, Formaldehyde, Aluminum

Do you really know what's in vaccines? According to the CDC, all the following neurotoxic metals and chemicals are intentionally added to vaccines: Mercury, MSG (monosodium glutamate), Formaldehyde and Aluminum.

These toxic elements should never be INJECTED into any human being! Their toxicity explains the deadly side effects of vaccines, including:

* Comas
* Seizures
* High fevers
* Spontaneous abortions
* Death

So why doesn't the vaccine industry make "clean" vaccines without these additives? The answer is because the whole point of vaccines is not to medically help people, but rather to intentionally POISON them.

I took a few minutes out of my day to research the claims presented, in this video, by Mr. Adams & found them to be 100% accurate, factual, and easily verifiable. But what I found most interesting was the way it almost wouldn't play due to the obscene amount of buffering & scrambling my device experienced as I tried watching it. That -alone- tells me that 'The Powers That Be' don't want us hearing what this vid has to say...

Heart attacks more common among the unemployed

People who have recently lost their jobs are more likely to suffer a heart attack than their employed peers, in some cases running a risk as high as 35%, according to a US study.

Researchers, whose results appeared in the Archives of Internal Medicine, found that each successive job loss was tied to a higher chance of heart problems among more than 13 000 older adults, although it’s not clear how unemployment itself might have caused the extra heart attacks.

The New Medicine of Dr Hamer

by Walter Last

Dr Hamer was persecuted and jailed for perhaps curing more people of cancer than anybody else in human history, his work lives on.

Dr Hamer had an exceptionally high success rate with his cancer therapy, by far the highest I have seen of any therapy. During one of several trials of the persecuted Dr Hamer the public prosecutor (Wiener-Neustadt in Austria) had to admit that after 4 to 5 years 6,000 out of 6,500 patients with mostly advanced cancer were still alive. That is over 90%, almost a reversal of the results to be expected after conventional treatment of advanced conditions.

Dr Hamer started his cancer research when he developed testicle cancer after his son was shot dead. He wondered if his son's death was the cause of his cancer. Subsequently he investigated and documented over 15,000 cases of cancer and always found the following characteristics to be present, which he termed the Iron Rules of Cancer.
