Abortion - Another Perspective
A worried woman went to her gynaecologist and said: 'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help!'
'My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.'
So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'
She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'
The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.' She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.
Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.'
The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!'
'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.' The doctor smiled, realising that he had made his point. He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!
Love says, 'I sacrifice myself for the good of the other person.' Abortion says, 'I sacrifice the other person for the good of myself.'

WHO urges people to reveal depression, goal is to pump up big pharma medication sales

Researchers warn that chemicals in cosmetics, plastics, and household cleaners could be causing women to go through menopause early.
Researchers from the Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri looked at data from 5,708 women who had been participants in the United States National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Women who had been exposed to high amounts of certain chemicals were likely to undergo menopause as much as two years early - a change from 51 years old, the average age for the onset of menopause in the United States, to 49 years old.

CAT scanner at SA Public hospital not fixed due to unpaid bills
A medical supply company is refusing to fix a Leratong hospital CAT scanner which has been broken for six weeks because it is owned money by the health department, the DA claimed on Sunday.
This was putting patients' lives at risk, said Democratic Alliance Gauteng health spokesman Jack Bloom.
He said emergency patients at Leratong had to wait hours to be taken to another hospital for scans.
"Supply company TecMed refuses to replace the tube in the CAT scanner as the Gauteng Health Department owes them money," said Bloom.
Department spokesman Simon Zwane said Leratong hospital management was interacting with TecMed to get the machine fixed.
He said there had been a dispute with TecMed about how much it had been paid for its services and how much it was still owed by the department.
"Management is working on getting the machine fixed."
Regarding an accusation by Bloom that operations at Helen Joseph hospital had to be cancelled on Thursday when it ran out of a special paper used when sterilising surgical instruments, Zwane said the hospital received more paper on Friday.
"Another batch of the paper will be delivered this coming week," he said.

Why are Black women over 3 times more likely to obtain an abortion than White women? Even though African Americans are only 12.6% of the population, they received 30% of the 1.2 million abortions in 2008 (latest available statistics), killing 360,000 Black babies at a rate of nearly 1,000 per day.
More than 16 million African American unborn babies have died from legalized abortion, which suggests that the current Black population of 39 million would have been more than a third larger without abortion. This scourge is the leading cause of death for African Americans, more than all other causes combined, including AIDS, violent crimes, accidents, cancer and heart disease. African Americans have been disproportionately hurt by abortion because they have been targeted from the beginning. This is truly a case of Black genocide, and Planned Parenthood is one of the major players in this tragedy.
Life Issues Institute’s recent analysis of 2010 Census Bureau data shows that Planned Parenthood continues to strategically place the majority of their surgical abortion facilities in locations that target Black Americans for abortion. This analysis shows that 62% of Planned Parenthood abortion facilities are within walking distance (2 miles) of relatively high African American populations. In 2005, Life Issues Institute was the first to use Census 2000 data to document Planned Parenthood’s placement near minority neighborhoods; this updated research uses the newest census data to thoroughly examine the neighborhoods around their abortion facilities.
In this study, the percentage of African Americans was calculated for every census tract within walking distance of the 165 Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities operating in 2010. Census tracts are subdivisions designed to delineate areas whose populations are fairly homogeneous in certain ways, such as income level or housing stock.

Since then, that OPPRESSIVE role has been taken over by organised SCIENCE. For the past 400 years SCIENCE HAS BEEN SUPPRESSING, PERSECUTING & PROSECUTING EXACTLY SUCH INTELLIGENT PROGRESSIVE INDIVIDUALS!
In my view Science is an insult to knowledge, it is backward and oppressive and it kept us in the dark ages until now.
Science only tries to investigate what others already know & that cannot be understood by scientists. High Incarnates like these greats were centuries ahead of their time, and they changed the World forever.

1. The original Levi Strauss jeans were made from hemp fibers.
2. The fiber from 1 acre of hemp (which matures in 100 days) is equivalent to 4 acres of trees (which take decades to mature).
3. Most of the bird seed sold in the U.S. has hemp seed in it

Doctors who view the practice of medicine as a calling are more satisfied
They feel better about caring for patients with complex conditions such as obesity and alcohol addiction than other physicians, research shows.

The reasons that drive doctors to practice medicine can have an impact on how satisfied they are caring for patients with challenging conditions, says an Archives of Internal Medicine research letter published online Aug. 27.
Researchers analyzed data from a national survey of 1,504 primary care physicians. They found that doctors who see medicine as a calling are more likely than other physicians to be satisfied treating patients who are obese or addicted to nicotine or alcohol.
Of the three conditions, physicians were most satisfied treating nicotine dependence (62%), followed by obesity (57%) and alcoholism (50%).

The reasons that drive doctors to practice medicine can have an impact on how satisfied they are caring for patients with challenging conditions, says an Archives of Internal Medicine research letter published online Aug. 27.
Researchers analyzed data from a national survey of 1,504 primary care physicians. They found that doctors who see medicine as a calling are more likely than other physicians to be satisfied treating patients who are obese or addicted to nicotine or alcohol.
Of the three conditions, physicians were most satisfied treating nicotine dependence (62%), followed by obesity (57%) and alcoholism (50%).

Massive underspending in South Africa's public hospitals
Five provinces under-spent on public hospital infrastructure to the tune of about R800 million last year, according to Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi.

Staff Management: Is your employee a Porsche or a VW Beetle?

We often find companies descending into
run-of-the-mill worker mentality with under-productive staff and we
wonder why?
We are quite willing to pay R8500 to
R9000 per month for a Toyota Land Cruiser pick-up, while we most
often use it for no more than an hour to three hours per day
travelling to and from the office. The Cruiser is nothing but a
transport vehicle, which achieves the same as a municipal bus or
taxi.
At the same time we have an employee
that gives us his time and productivity for eight hours each day,
plus he/she also spends the same amount of time travelling to and
from the office. The Cruiser does not add anything to the company
other than being a tax-deductible expense, while the employee adds to
the company. Without the land Cruiser one could always get to the
office by some other means, be it a bus, taxi or driving club.

More research finds stress something to worry about
Psychological distress, even at relatively low levels, is linked to an increased risk of death, a new study shows.
For the study, which was published July 31 in the journal BMJ, researchers analyzed data on more than 68,000 adults over age 35 who took part in England's National Health Survey from 1994 to 2004.Researchers found that subjects who were even slightly distressed -- such as those who sometimes had trouble sleeping due to worry -- were about 20 percent more likely to die over a ten-year period compared to people who reported no such symptoms. The researchers controlled for other unhealthy behaviors often linked to stress, such as smoking or drinking, as well as exercise, weight, and factors such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
In a separate study, researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital from Boston found that women suffering phobic anxiety, such as fear of heights, had shorter telomeres, the outermost part of chromosomes that shorten as we age, than their less-stressed counterparts.

Two Apples a Day More Effective At Reducing Heart Disease Than Statin Medications
More evidence continues to surface supporting the superior effectiveness of nature's foods over medication in preventing disease. New research shows that just two apples a day could help protect women against heart disease lowering blood fat levels by almost 25 percent, a claim unattainable by cardiovascular prescription medications.
Scientists found apples significantly lowered blood fat levels in postmenopausal women, the group most at risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Studies in the past have found that flavonoids act as antioxidants -- enzymes that target free radicals that can damage DNA. Flavonoids are commonly found in chocolate, green tea and other fruits and vegetables.
Snacking on the fruit every day for six months slashed levels of so-called "bad cholesterol" by almost a quarter, a figure that all statin drugs combined cannot attain.

Carbon monoxide could treat pulmonary hypertension and inflammation
CARBON monoxide gets a bad rap. The gas, produced by incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons, causes hundreds of deaths every year by poisoning and sends many thousands to hospital. These are mainly the result of leaking cooking and heating equipment, but the colourless, odourless and tasteless substance, known to chemists as CO has also aided many a suicide. Most horrifically, Nazis used it in gas chambers.
But there is more to the “silent killer”, as CO is sometimes called. It is produced by many cells in the human body, where its molecules play a crucial role in activating enzymes involved in controlling the dilation of blood vessels, and thus blood flow. Mice in which the gene for producing the compound has been knocked out develop faulty organs and tend to die prematurely.
Exploiting this insight, researchers have successfully used CO to treat a number of ailments in lab critters. These include pulmonary hypertension, an otherwise incurable disease in which thickened arteries obstruct the flow of blood, leading to heart failure. The gas also keeps inflammation in check, in particular following organ transplants, where the recipient’s immune system tries to fend off the alien graft.

Background
In 1988, IARC classified diesel exhaust as probably carcinogenic to humans (Group 2A). An Advisory Group which reviews and recommends future priorities for the IARC Monographs Program had recommended diesel exhaust as a high priority for re-evaluation since 1998.
There has been mounting concern about the cancer-causing potential of diesel exhaust, particularly based on findings in epidemiological studies of workers exposed in various settings. This was re-emphasized by the publication in March 2012 of the results of a large US National Cancer Institute/National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health study of occupational exposure to such emissions in underground miners, which showed an increased risk of death from lung cancer in exposed workers (1).
